What we collect and why

This page explains what data Makkal Saatchi collects when you use the platform and how it is used. We collect the minimum needed to run the public record.

What we collect

Report content

District, area, office or location, category of bribe, amount demanded, amount paid (if any), payment method, incident date and time, and a description in your words. This forms the public record.

Evidence files

If you attach a photo, audio, or video file, it is stored securely. Evidence files are not shown publicly or to platform reviewers. Only the report form data appears in the dashboard.

Name and mobile number (optional)

Only if you choose to share them. Reporters who want to be contacted by officials can provide a name and mobile number. These are never shown publicly.

Data retention

Submitted report data is retained to maintain the public record. Once submitted, a report cannot be deleted by the submitter. If a report needs to be corrected or removed, contact us via X.
